My front yard garden has been making me happy for months on end, but it's tapping into a special part of my heart at the moment.
I garden in Portland, Oregon (USDA Zone 8). Fall is hands down my favorite season. After a summer of blistering heat (to me—and yes, I'm a hot weather wimp), one of the things I appreciate about it is the cooler temps. All the better for enjoying the parade of changing colors and the shifting light as I lap up the last of the season in my garden or on my regular neighborhood strolls. I'm especially enjoying the orange-red color of my Stewartia pseudocamellia. It radiates like glowing embers and I bask in its glow multiple times a day as I come and go via our front entry. Rain will be here before we know it and that has its own appeal. But for now, I invite you to tour this section of my front yard garden.
Below the video, you'll find links to the plants that I mention in the video. Click to learn more about them and get ideas of how to include them in your garden.
