Red Blooming Plant Combination

This super easy, low maintenance planting combination for full sun is easy to replicate in your garden. The harmonious color scheme in combination with the variation in the shape of the blooms is what makes this scene engaging. Both of the featured plants are top performers that are very easy to grow in a variety of full sun garden situations.

Knock Out™ red roses (Rosa 'Radrazz') bloom their heads off for months on end. While you can choose to deadhead for a tidier appearance, it's not a requirement for repeated bloom. They're especially resistant to disease and don't require any of the fussing that some of the more temperamental roses require to perform well.

Bistort mountain fleece (Persicaria amplexicaulis 'Firetail') is a robust perennial for full sun that does best when given a bit of shoulder room. It can easily reach 3-4 feet wide very quickly. In smaller garden spaces, it will likely require periodic division to keep it in bounds. Crimson red spires adorn the plant from mid-summer and continue into fall.
