Shade Loving Combo for Container or Garden

A wonderful arrangement of evergreen leaves in varied shape, size, and texture is the core of this combo, but popping in an easy-care, long-blooming begonia for annual color takes it over the top. The gold and yellow foliage can bring light to a dark corner in your garden. The coral foliage of Heuchera 'Fire Alarm' draws out the bronze edges of the autumn fern and it makes a nice backdrop for the lightly colored blooms.

This combination will do well in a spot that is quite shady, however open shade, filtered sun to part sun will encourage more flowers on the begonia. A wonderful vignette for packing into a large container or suitable for planting in-ground in a shady nook. The begonia is an annual that will die each year, so you'll need to replace it each year to create the full effect. Subbing in another similar color would work as well, though pick one that enhances the bronzy coral tones of the new foliage of the Autumn fern for best effect.
