Woodland Plant Combo in Shades of Green

The Sike's Dwarf oakleaf hydrangea has ivory panicles in summer and a good show of fall color. Because it's a dwarf selection, it works in a small spot and is in proper scale with other elements of this combo. The foliage of the variegated false holly is the glue that binds; with its range of greens it plays to the bold summertime foliage of the hydrangea and the deep green finely textured foliage of the bean pole yew, it's lighter tones play to the hydrangea blooms and the dwarf conifer, and yellow plays to the Acorus 'Ogon' at its feet. We've suggested Chamaecyparis 'Snow' as the dwarf conifer in this combo; keen plant-spotters may notice that is not what is pictured (conifer pictured is a bit obscure and would be difficult to locate).
