Hakonechloa macra

Japanese Forest Grass

Deciduous, Herbaceous Grass / Grass-Like, Perennial

The straight species of Japanese Forest grass, Hakonechloa macra, is a comparatively simple and subdued color story compared to the more widely grown, and hugely popular variants with golden foliage, such as Hakonechloa macra 'Aureola' or H. 'All Gold'. Undulating waves of rich green foliage make a lovely and serene large scale groundcover when planted en masse.
