Pittosporum tobira 'Shima'

Dwarf Mock Orange, Creme de Mint Dwarf Mock Orange

Evergreen Shrub

Pittosporum tobira 'Shima' is a compact, slow-growing evergreen shrub with a naturally rounded form that rarely needs corrective pruning. The glossy, medium-green leaves are edged in creamy white—clean, two-toned, and reliably ornamental through every season. Mature size stays in the range of 2 feet tall by 3–4 feet wide, which makes it useful in small gardens and containers.

It handles a range of exposures—full sun to open shade—and once established, gets by on average water. The variegation doesn't fade or bronze in winter; the foliage stays presentable when a lot of other plants don't. That earns it a place at the front of a border or along a path where it will be seen year-round.

Good as a low hedge, a container anchor, an edger, or a small-space specimen. Salt and wind tolerant, which makes it a practical choice for exposed sites or coastal gardens. The epitome of low maintenance: it just sits there and looks handsome.
