Clematis in Bloom: An Early May Tour of My Portland, OR Garden

Today I'm taking you on a quick tour of the Clematis vines blooming in my Portland, Oregon garden. I'm a bit of a Clematis collector, so I've built up quite a nice variety over the years. 🌺

While this video only shows a few that are in bloom right now in early May, you'll get a sense of the different flower shapes, colors, and growth habits. I love using Clematis to add vertical interest and pops of color to my garden beds and borders. They pair so nicely with the other plants I have growing.

Of course, Clematis do require a bit of care, like giving them something sturdy to climb on and pruning at the right time. But I find it's worth the effort to enjoy their beautiful, long-lasting blooms in my Zone 8b garden. Hopefully this gives you some ideas if you're thinking of adding more Clematis to your own Pacific Northwest landscape.

Let me know if you have any other questions! I'm always happy to share what I've learned about growing these lovely vines.
